Love Notes and Talk Time Tuesday!

First of all I would like all of my crafty followers to head on over to my DT blog, she is having lots of challenges, give-aways and helpful hints! This weeks Talk Time Tuesday was cute and amazing! Check it out!!

http://www.creativecutter.org/2011/02/talk-time-tuesday-quick-tip-rosettes.html#more

Love Notes

Items needed:

  • Tissue box
  • Double sided tape
  • 2 12x12 pages
  • 1 brad
  • 12 x 12 page of a solid color
  • love stuck cartridge
  • Crop-a-Dile
  • Cricut
  • Gypsy
Cut one of ends off the tissue box. All you need to do is open it up on one of the ends and then cut off the flaps.

Cut both 12x12 pages down to 8 3/4", then you need to cut (2) 4 3/4" in wide, these are the top and bottom pieces,  Then (1) 4 3/4" x 2 3/4, this is the back piece. Now you need 12" wide by 8 3/4" long.

Tape the top, bottom and end on. Then Take your long piece and tape it to one side and then arch it over to the other side, and tape it down. It will look like a mail box.

Then on your gyspy, find love stuck. There is a mail box with a heart mail flag. I went and hid everything on that cut but the flag. The size it had to be so the flag would be big enough was, 22.5. I cut one and then flipped my mat and cut the other, with the solid color of paper. Then I taped the two flags together.

For the flag attachement, I punched a 1/8" hole in the side right side of the mailbox with my crop-a-dile, I just eye-balled it to see where it would look best. Then I put a 1/8" hole in the bottom of flag. Put the brad thru the hold and then taped the back of the brad down. On the back side of the flag I put some double sided tape and stuck it to the mailbox.

Now you are ready to get your Valentine's. My kids made these when they were 5-6. I had things pre-cut and let them do the rest. You can decorate as much or as little as you want!

Love Notes 2

Items needed:
  • Box (12x8x4)
  • Wrapping paper
  • Tape
  • Glitter glue
  • Gypsy
  • Cricut
  • Love stuck, all mixed up cartridge
  • Solid color paper
  • Glue
First I tape the bottom of the box closed, then I measure a 1inch by 12 inch section in the front of the box and cut it out. (This will be where you will drop your valentine's) Then I tape the box all together and you will have a 1in hole in the front that is as long as the box.

Next I wrap it like a present and have the seam of the paper in the back. Then I carefully run the scissors down the middle of the paper in front of the hole and tape them down.

Then you have what looks like a mailbox or just a cute box.

I cut out a set of hearts from the love stuck cartridge and did them (11.5 x 4.5 ), I cut Valentine out at (11.5 x 4.5) and then I used xmas red glitter glue on it. I cut Maximus out with all mixed up in           (2 inches)

but once you get the box made you can decorate it any way you want.

More Love Notes....

If you follow this link to my DT blog, you will find lots more Valentine boxes and ideas, There are 2 ways to be entered for a prize. 1~ you make a valentine box and share or you leave a comment... she has great prizes!!

Quick and Easy Valentine's! .... and a..... GIVE-AWAY!!

Most of us crafters that have kids in school, work, and have family and friends usually need to make quite a few Valentine's. The other day when I was at Robert's I saw a 12x12 page with 12 cute different little valentine pictures on it. So I got an idea in my head that that page could be made into 12 easy valentine's and guess what??? It worked! All I did is cute out the rectangles, find matching solid colors to match from my scraps and add just one kind of embellishment to each card. In some of them I put cute little sayings such as (hugs and "fishes", "pugs" and kisses, "Whooo" do you love?, and in the mooooo-d for love) then I put them together. Whole project took about an hour and I have 12 valentine's for teachers, friends and family!

When I thought of this idea, I got a good question to ask all of my crafty friends.

~ What is the ONE item at the craft store, local scrapbook store or online paper crafting web-site that is your absolute FAVORITE, the ONE item that you have a million of but when you go shopping you can't help but look and purchase more???

Mine is BUTTONS!!!!

The drawing is for a green Paper Shapers corneradorner, (corner rounder punch). Leave a comment about the question above and I will randomly draw a name next Friday, Feb. 11th. Make sure that you also comment on the (TOOL HELP post) to be entered for the small prize there!

Thanks and have a GREAT weekend!

Tool Help!!!

Ok all my crafty friends! I bought a tool before Christmas and I am now just getting around to using it. The sander part is easy, but the scraper is not working or I am not sure how to use it. ( the latter is probably the case) It is the We R Memory Keepers "Heart Attack". It is super cute and the sanding works great. I just am not getting the whole "scraper" part of the tool. If anyone can help me out I would love it

I am going to give away a small gift bag, with a scrapper's notebook, clear stamp and small spool of ribbon to a random follower that posts on this comment.

I posted a picture of the tool, just in case you are wondering what it is.

Thanks so much!
Mollie
