During the Card Carnival I was reading all the very positive and sweet comments. I had a lot of you that wanted a tutorial on the card. You asked and you shall receive!!
I got the idea from a card kit at my local craft store. I bought the kit and altered it to my needs. If you want to order the kit here is the website Pinecone Press, this link will take you to the place for this particular card. The kit I got was red, which did not match my theme, so I cut it down to what size I needed and traced my pattern onto black paper.
The base of my card is 4" wide and 12" long. Then I folded it at the 2 3/4", 4 1/4",
8 1/4", and 9 3/4". It should look something like this but with out the writing on it.
Now for the 4 folders, You will need a 4 1/4" wide by 8" long piece for your folder (times 4) then you will score it at 3 1/2" and 7 1/4" on the length then across the bottom you need to score it at 3/4". After you have done that you will need to cut off the scoring on the bottom of the 3 1/2" side, also you will cut an angle on each side of the remaining piece. This is what it should look like when you are finished.
Then to make the half circle on the front of the card. Cut a 2 1/2" circle with die cut machine, or free hand. Then cut it in half. Line it up in the middle of your 3 3/4" piece trace and cut out. It should look like this when finished.
Then you decorate your folders, your main piece of the card and anything that you are going to put in the folders.
I used cute little gummy treats :)
Then you will assemble it all. You fold the side 3/4" side with the 3 1/2" side and tape together using double sided tape or adhesive of your choice. Make sure you leave the bottom flap out, because this is how you will stick it to your card. When you have assembled all your folders, you will glue the flap to the card one at a time.
Then you will have this cute little card!!
(excuse the mess in the back)
